 Steam Greenlight
Valve's newest addition to Steam was announced today. It is called Steam "Greenlight". It acts sort of like Steam Workshop but for games to be added to Steam. http://steamcommunity.com/greenlight/It has a review process, it looks like games that developers submit to Steam Greenlight will have to have enough positive votes or something to be added to Steam. I didn't read the entire page so I am not entirely sure. I see it sort of like gather all the eggs (games) of the internet and putting them in one basket (Steam). I like the idea.

 Re: Steam Greenlight
Consumer involvement is a massive win here.

 Re: Steam Greenlight
Valve just keeps getting everyone involved.
Why other companies are adding stuff like ESPN coverage to their console, Steam is getting something useful.
I dig it, I really do.

 Re: Steam Greenlight
Very interesting idea. I remember a lot of troll garbage flooded the place early on but it seems to got control over it. Awesome way for titles lacking AAA backing to actually make it somewhere.

Awesome way for titles lacking AAA backing to actually make it somewhere. That is because Valve now requires a $100 fee to be submitted to Greenlight. It weeds out the trolls and trash. The money doesn't go to Valve it goes to Child's Play. Also, next set of games being Greenlit will be on October 15th.
