Post Sennheiser Headphones question(s)
I've been heavily leaning towards buying the Sennheiser HD429's.
Is this a good buy? Do i get my moneys worth, do they last a long time? Other suggestions for other, possibly drastically better Sennheiser headphones (Around the same price range) would be appreciated as well.
Also is Leatherette uncomfortable, or is it pretty comparable to Cloth headphones? I have the Razer Carcharius atm, and they're pretty comfortable.

Bought a pair, lasted 14 months, then one hear just stopped working. Been taken apart and no reason for it, emailed sennheiser and the retailer about it, no reply from either...

So I havent had a very good experience. But they were good... while they worked...

i haven't used that model, but i use PX-200s and MX 550's for music

both have been really good - 3yrs of quality from the px-200s

leatherette i find more comfortable than cloth, easier to clean and lasts a bit longer.

what are you going to use them for?
If your going to be carting them round in back backs and such i'd def look at one of the folding sets, as it makes the a lot less easier to deal with size wise and less prone to breaking

I'm just going to be using them on my computer, and that's it. Really so the other people in the house doesn't have to hear the game, but i listen to music when I'm playing games. I'm not an "harcore" music listener, but if I'm buying a long-lasting headset (like the general consensus is for Sennheiser), I'd like to have the music sound really nice as well.

That's funny, I had the Razer Carcharias and I thought they were super comfortable, and they were. I bought them because my friend had purchased them and recommended them. A couple months later his mic broke, which made the headset almost useless. I was a lot more careful with my set, always kept them on my desk and never dropped them. So it lasted about a year and a half, until one day, the speakers stopped working for no reason, the wire that joined the volume control was the problem I believe.
I felt somehow cheated that they would break like that, so I made sure I did some research about my next pair instead of just buying the most popular "gaming headphones" that looked nice.
Music and overall sound quality is most important to me, especially in video games. Audio is more immersive than graphics in most cases so you can see the importance. I read good reviews for Senheiser products, so I got the Sennheiser PC 350 headset. Ive had it for a while now and I can say the sound quality is amazing. I thought those Carcharias had the best sound, boy was I wrong. The mic sounds crystal clear, it really is amazing how good it sounds. Also, a basic sound card makes a HUGE difference, so I would recommend one, even if it's not the best.
